Three Children Rescued By Anti-Trafficking Team in Eastern Region
Mr. Samuel Zan Akologo, the Executive Secretary of Caritas Ghana has acknowledged the immense efforts of the Anti-trafficking team for undertaking a difficult and yet impressive task in rescuing three children.
These children were rescued from child traffickers who held them hostage in a fishing community near Donkorkrom in the Eastern Region.
He made it known to Newswatchgh.com that Caritas Ghana continuous to depend on the International Justice Mission in the joint effort to fight against the menace associated with child trafficking practiced in some part of the country.
Mr. Zan Akologo condemned the act of child trafficking and classified it as shameful act and as part of the Catholic Church’s hatred for these shameful acts to humanity.
He added that Pope Francis continues to attack trafficking in persons due to the fact that it disfigures the humanity of people who fall victim to these acts.
He expressed gratitude to police service, social welfare department and local authorities for their immense support and cooperation.
He also said their support and cooperation had restored the freedom and care to the children.
Finally, he asked for the law to deal with the perpetrators of such inhumane acts.
