In a span of six hours, fifteen minutes, Catholics who participated in the three-day Maiden Rosary Congress at the Our Lady of Fatima Grotto at the Christ the King Parish have prayed 1,000 Hail Marys.
This spiritual exercise was a profound marathon of devotion showcased by all devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Archdiocese of Accra, filling the atmosphere with fervent prayers.
Pilgrims from the eight Deaneries of the Archdiocese and beyond converged at the grotto for the Rosary prayers, which started from 8:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 17,2025.

The 1,000 Hail Marys were dedicated to interceding for peace in the world, healing for the sick, and spiritual renewal for the faithful.
The Our Lady of Fatima Grotto, adorned with flowers and filled with Marian hymns, amplified the spiritual intensity of the moment, with pilgrims fully immersed in the rosary.
Some knelt on the floor, while others sat, meditating with their rosary beads, with the collective chant of “Hail Mary, full of grace.”

Some of the pilgrims told newswatchgh.com that they were very much edified and anticipate that by the end of the Congress, their prayers would be heard.
The day’s programme extended beyond the rosary prayer, featuring a healing and deliverance session, which was led by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe, Parish Priest of St. John the Evangelist Parish at Adenta, who offered spiritual and physical restoration to the pilgrims present.

Talks on the Holy Rosary and Mary’s role as intercessor deepened the pilgrims’ understanding of the devotion, with the concluding Mass, presided by Rev. Fr. Ebenezer Akesseh, bringing the day to a solemn close.
The Maiden Rosary Congress is a collaboration between the Global Rosary Network, led by Rev. Fr. David Painstil and the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, themed, “The Holy Rosary: A Weapon for Pilgrims of Hope.”
