On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the St. Augustine’s College Chaplaincy held an induction ceremony for new prefects. The event, which took place at the school premises in Cape Coast, had in attendance members of the school community.
The Chaplain, Fr. Emmanuel Adjine, in a homily, centred on “The Essence of Obedience”, emphasized the importance of obedience.
Fr. Adjine further encouraged the new Prefects to embrace humility, diligence, and truthfulness in their leadership roles.
Mr. Henry Arthur-Gyan, the Headmaster, congratulated the outgoing Prefectorial body, particularly Jonathan Louis and his team, for their exceptional service.
He reminded the new Prefects, led by Senior Prefect Aaron Baiden, about the seriousness of their induction into office as prefects.
Mr. Arthur-Gyan urged them to be focused and seek God’s support and also assured them of the support of the administration.
He also charged the newly inducted prefects to leave a lasting legacy through their leadership and academic achievements.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Henry Arthur-Gyan, Headmaster; Mrs. Edith Swanzy Donkor, Assistant Headmistress, Administration; Mr. Francis Addo Mensah, Assistant Headmaster, Academics; Mr. Michael Amissah, Assistant headmaster Domestics; House Masters; Staff members; some parents of the Prefects.
The induction ceremony marked a new beginning for the Prefects, who are now entrusted with leadership responsibilities in the College.
