On Saturday, June 7, 2025, over a thousand members of the Christian Mothers Association of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra gathered at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Adabraka for a spiritual pilgrimage under the theme: “If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14).
This profound promise from Jesus, whose word is true and unchanging, was the cornerstone of the event.
One of the Auxiliary Bishops of the Archdiocese, the Most Rev. Anthony Narh Asare, graced the occasion and presided over the Holy Mass with the Christian Mothers and offered them special blessings before the pilgrimage began.

His presence added a deep sense of reverence to the day. Bishop Asare shared words of encouragement, urging the mothers to reflect Christ in their daily lives as they serve the Church.
He reminded them that service within the Church is a selfless act dedicated to God and must be carried out with respect and devotion.
He further called on all Christian Mothers in the Archdiocese to freely offer themselves as vessels through which God’s work and promises can reach humanity.

Concluding his homily, the Bishop encouraged the women with these powerful words: “Because God lives, we are still strong to face the challenges of our world.”
The Bishop’s blessings and counsel laid a strong spiritual foundation for the pilgrimage, inspiring the mothers to deepen their faith and commitment to unity and love.
As part of the pilgrimage, the Rosary was prayerfully recited, followed by the Stations of the Cross. In solemn devotion, the mothers presented both individual and collective intentions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Christ at the grotto.

Also present at the pilgrimage was the Archdiocesan Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Acheampong.
Rev. Fr. Donatus Pallu, Parish Priest of St. Maurice Catholic Church at La, Accra, delivered a powerful reflection on the theme, urging the Christian Mothers to pray boldly in Jesus’ name without doubt, for His promise is to answer all petitions made in His name. He emphasized that Jesus’ name holds unmatched power, and our prayers must be rooted in complete faith.
He explained that there were times our prayers appear unanswered and highlighted three possible reasons: praying with doubt, praying with the wrong intentions, and praying while living in sin.

He encouraged the mothers to invite the Holy Spirit into their prayer lives, saying, “When we seek the Spirit’s help to pray in the name of Jesus, our prayers become more aligned with God’s will and are more powerfully received.”
Fr. Pallu reminded the mothers that the true power of prayer lies not just in spoken words, but in the sincerity of our hearts and our unwavering faith in Jesus.
He called upon all Christian Mothers to pray with pure hearts, free from doubt and sin, and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide their prayers.
Through this, he stated they open themselves to the abundant blessings that God had promised and called for an unwavering trust in the power of Jesus’ name.

In her remarks, Mother Eunice Kokui Dumashie, President of the Christian Mothers Association of the Accra Archdiocese, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the mothers who participated in the pilgrimage.
She appreciated the priests present for honouring their invitation and for their words of encouragement for the growth in the individual lives of Mothers in the Archdiocese and the association at large. She applauded Mothers in the Archdiocese for their dedication and for honouring the event with their presence.
Mother Eunice encouraged the mothers to live according to the words shared by Rev. Father Donatus, particularly embracing the theme of the pilgrimage.
She reminded them to carry the teachings of faith, prayer, and trust in Jesus’ name into every aspect of their lives—whether at home, in church, at work, or within the Association.

She also commended the mothers for their commitment to availing themselves for the pilgrimage, urging them to allow the Holy Spirit to guide their lives, speaking to them in Jesus’ name.
Looking ahead, Mother President Dumashie encouraged all Mothers in the Archdiocese to prepare well for the upcoming National Conference in Tamale, scheduled from August 27 to 31, 2025, and to maintain the spirit of comportment and unity that had been so evident during the pilgrimage.
In her closing words, she inspired the Mothers in the Archdiocese to continue living in faith, with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to their spiritual journey.

The pilgrimage was filled with a joyful and reverent spirit as the Christian Mothers came together in faith and unity.
The atmosphere was one of celebration and deep spiritual reflection, as the women embraced the message of hope delivered by Fr. Pallu. With hearts full of gratitude, the Mothers were reminded that prayer is not only about asking but about aligning with God’s will and trusting fully in His power.
The event was a beautiful expression of the strength, devotion, and joy that flow from community and faith.
