The Accra Archdiocesan Catholic Women Council has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the youth of the Archdiocese by donating substantial food items to support the first-ever Archbishop Kwofie Summer Camp.
This donation took place at the Holy Spirit Cathedral- Adabraka on 9th August, 2025.
The Summer Camp, which last took place eight years ago under the name Archbishop Palmer Buckle Summer Camp, has been revived to provide an enriching and formative experience for young Catholics.
On behalf of the Women Council, Mrs. Mary Baffour Ashun, President of the Women Council of the Archdiocese of Accra, presented the items to Mr. Augustine Kwame Dagbey, Chairman of the Archdiocesan Youth Council, and Rev. Fr. Michael Etsey, Assistant Priest at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, who received them on behalf of Rev. Fr. Alphonse Bulloro, the Archdiocesan Youth Director.
The donation comprised 10 bags of rice, bottles and containers of red and vegetable oils, tomato pastes, boxes of sardine, crates of eggs, bottles of liquid soaps, disinfectant, tissues, sack of onions, baskets of okro, containers of corn dough and cassava dough, cartons of chicken and fish, dry corn, and beans.

In her remarks, Mrs. Ashun applauded the Youth Council executives for reaching out and expressed gratitude to the member bodies of the Women Council who contributed to this generous gesture.
She further commended the spirit of collaboration between the Women Council and the Youth Council, encouraging all lay groups and councils to extend generosity to the needs of the youth, “as we work together for the growth of the Church in the Archdiocese of Accra and, by extension, Ghana as a whole.”
