In his remarks, Mr. Agbewornu assured the newly inaugurated branch of his unflinching support, urging the members in their own way to project the union everywhere they found themselves.

As the Ghana Black Stars play against Chad on Thursday, September 4, 2025, he encouraged MISUGHA members to rally their support for the national team to come with flying colours.

In his maiden address to welcome the hundreds of MISUGHA members who attended the function, Mr. Jacob Ametonu, Chairman of the Anyaa-Sowutuom branch, said, “This moment is not just a celebration of our shared passion but a testimony to the power of unity, dedication, and the unwavering spirit of support that binds us together.”

“Today, we embark on a journey to create a community that stands as a pillar of strength for our athletes, teams, and institutions,” he stated, saying that “Our mission is to inspire, to motivate, and to be the heartbeat that drives our players to achieve greatness both on and off the field.”

According to Mr. Ametonu, “We are not just spectators; we are the energy that fuels their determination, the voices that echo their victories, and the hands that lift them in moments of challenge.”

He reminded the members that “Our strength lies in our diversity and our shared commitment to a common goal,” pledging to foster an environment of encouragement, respect, and camaraderie.

“We will not only cheer for success but also stand firm in the face of adversity, proving that true supporters are unwavering in their loyalty,” he assured.

He thanked all who had contributed to making the inauguration a reality, especially the MISUGHA National Executives, saying that “Your hard work, dedication, and belief in this cause have laid the foundation for what I am confident will be a legacy of excellence and unity.”

Mr. Ametonu pleaded with the Anya-Sowutuom Branch members to come together to move the union forward with enthusiasm, knowing that “our collective efforts will not only uplift our teams but also inspire future generations to embrace the values of teamwork, perseverance, and community.”

All the Executives were presented with their Identification cards, a gesture and an indication of their readiness to start work.

With the motto: MISUGHA – THE GREAT… MISUGHA- NO CHALLENGER…MISUGHA – YES WE CAN, the Union is a dedicated group committed to supporting the national soccer teams. It is one of the leading supporter groups in Ghana that attends nearly every sporting event, both domestically and internationally, to back Ghanaian athletes.

MISUGHA members have been supporting sporting events since 2009, when 45 members went to the Under-20 World Youth championship in Egypt, during which Ghana, under the captainship of Andre Dede Ayew, won the trophy.

Over 200 members of MISUGHA also went to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, and again over 200 members participated in the 2013 African Nations Cup. In 2014, members were equally represented in Brazil.
