Donkorkrom: Let Your Christianity be one of Power – Priest Tells Pilgrims

Must read

Rev. Fr. Anthony Teye Binyemi, Priest In-Charge of St. Fidelis Parish, Tease in the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom told parishioners to “believe in and actually demonstrate the Powerful Christian life.”

Fr. Binyemi said this in a talk during his parish’s pilgrimage to the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Donkorkrom to walk through the Holy Door.

This forms part of a three-day Revival, Jubilee and Christ the King Celebrations, where he highlighted “Ten keys to the powerful Christian life.”

The keys, firmly rooted in Sacred Scriptures, include love, faith, hope, purity, prayer and fasting, obedience, humility, detachment, family and communal life.

The Priest In-Charge took the pilgrims through each of the keys supported by biblical texts and urged them to embrace these keys together with the sacraments of the Church in other to build them up as “mature Catholic Christians living in a strong relationship with God,” he said.

He emphasized that “Our Christianity would be straw-like when we are not committed to the keys to the powerful Christian life even though we could be good at the jazz and the choir and extraordinarily talented in many ways in the world around us!”

Fr. Binyemi raised concerns about the practice of the Christian life as a religion of convenience in many circles where its values are ignored.

He encouraged the parishioners not to get themselves hold on to anti-Christian notions on the faith.

He noted that Christianity is full of sacrifices and challenges from its very beginning and it is not to be practiced only when it is easy, while its essential sacrifices are suppressed.

He concluded by encouraging them to live authentic Christian lives, in order to be true ambassadors of Christ in the world.
