Rev. Fr. Michael Etsey has called on the pupils of Blessed Laura Catholic School to demonstrate love, kindness, and generosity during the Christmas season, reminding them that caring for others is the true expression of Christian faith.
Delivering the homily to the students during a recent school pilgrimage and Eucharistic celebration, Rev. Fr. Etsey encouraged them to see Jesus in their neighbours and to reach out to those in need, especially during Christmas.
He explained that acts of sharing, such as helping someone who may not have a Christmas dress or necessities, are ways through which Christians receive blessings. According to him, loving one’s neighbour is central to making the Word of God “flesh” in everyday life.

“Your neighbour is Jesus,” he told the students, stressing that Christians must not harm or mistreat others but rather show compassion and care, as Christ became human to teach people how to love one another.
Fr. Etsey urged the students to carry the message of Christ into their homes and communities by becoming examples of love, unity, and selflessness. He encouraged them not to remove Jesus from the celebration of Christmas but to reflect His presence through sharing, communication, and mutual respect.
He concluded by praying for God’s blessings upon the students and their families and wished them a happy and joyful Christmas.
