Christians in Ghana Urged to Remain Prayerful, Steadfast in Faith

Must read

Rev. Fr. Isaac Donkor, CSSp, Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Afienya, in the catholic Archdiocese of Accra, has urged Christians not to give up on prayer, even in moments when life appears to have come to a standstill.

He said prayer remains a vital channel through which believers invite God into their situations and receive the strength to move forward with hope and faith.

Fr. Donkor made the call during a Thanksgiving Mass held in honour of Noble Sister Emma Ethel Asomani, the Supreme Subordinate President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International, Ghana.

Reflecting on the life of St. Joseph, whom he described as the “silent pillar of the Incarnation,” Rev. Fr. Donkor encouraged the faithful to emulate Joseph’s quiet obedience, trust in God, and willingness to say “yes” to God’s will, even when circumstances are unclear.

“Like Joseph, we are called to trust God completely, practise forgiveness, and live lives of integrity as God’s people,” he admonished.

He further urged Christians to live by their convictions, remain steadfast in their faith, and forge forward while holding firmly to Christian values that shape them into better people.
Rev. Fr. Donkor also emphasized the importance of forgiveness, noting that a forgiving heart is central to Christian living and essential for personal and communal growth.

The Thanksgiving Mass attracted senior officers of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery and Ladies’ Auxiliary, as well as Brothers and Sisters of the Accra East Grand Commandery and Ladies’ Auxiliary, who joined in celebrating the leadership and service of Noble Sister Emma Ethel Asomani.

The occasion was marked by prayers, thanksgiving, and reflections on faith, leadership, and service to God and humanity.
