Must read

Members of the BHOBU-POGA Welfare Society came together on Saturday, 23rd May 2026, for a well-attended Meeting and Get-Together held at the 3C’s Guest House, Madina.

The meeting brought together alumni from the 1990–1999-decade group and other year groups of BHOBU and POGA from Bishop Herman College, Kpando and OLA Senior High School, Ho, for fellowship, updates, and strategic discussions on the way forward for the Society.

The BHOBU-POGA Welfare Society, originally an initiative of the 1990–1999-year groups, is now open to all BHOBU-POGA year groups who wish to become members.

A key focus of the gathering was the review of the Society’s Constitution. Members engaged in open dialogue to strengthen governance, clarify welfare benefits and investment opportunities, and position the Society to better serve its members and support its alma maters.

The reviewed document is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and member participation.

The atmosphere was one of unity and nostalgia, with members reconnecting, sharing updates, and reaffirming their commitment to the Society’s objectives of harmonising relations, supporting members in times of need, and fostering love for their alma maters.

The President of the BHOBU-POGA Welfare Society, Esther Roberta Cosmas-Nyaunu, on behalf of the Executive Council, thanked all members who made time to attend and contribute.

She also encouraged members who could not make it to reach out for updates and stay engaged with the Society’s activities.

Members present unanimously endorsed the current Executives to continue their selfless leadership. The Executives are  President, Esther Roberta Cosmas-Nyaunu; Vice President, Richard Nii Annang Clottey; Secretary, Doreen Nani; Treasurer: Happy Nicholina Makunu; Welfare Officer, Georgiette Tetteh; Organiser, Vincent Tormeti; Public Relations Officer: Christian Delali Kpetigo and Legal Officer, Bridget Akpe Akattah.

The BHOBU-POGA Welfare Society continues to serve as a bridge that keeps the spirit of BHOBU and POGA alive, turning old school bonds into lifelong support.

The objectives of the Society include to harmonise and improve relations between members of the association and members of BHOBU and POGA, and also amongst the entire old student bodies (BHOBU and POGA) and the Bishop Herman College, Kpando and OLA Senior High School, Ho and to inculcate into its members the spirit of patriotism and renewed love for our alma mater.

Others are to offer adequate support to any member and to take up issues on behalf of such a member in times of trouble, dispute, crisis, and elevation, where necessary, and to raise funds and make recommendations with respect to the investment and administration of such funds.
