Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Casmir Gosu, the Parish Priest of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, has called on members of the Catholic Organisation for Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA) to emulate their founder’s leadership and commitment to service.

Delivering his homily at the Golden Jubilee celebration of Msgr. Jonathan Thomas Ayikai Ankrah, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Dansoman on Saturday, July 18, 2026, Fr. Emmanuel emphasised that true servants of God prioritise their calling over reputation or opposition.

He said, “In many situations, when you do the right things in your position, because these people are not able to do the good things, they want to oppose you and bring you down.”

He described Msgr. Ankrah as someone who has consistently centred his life on God’s call, from his early priesthood through academic and leadership roles, including work in Central Africa and involvement with Eritrean communities.

“You could see how Monsignor has centred the call of God, and has led the past 50 years, serving and doing the will of God. So as we join Monsignor in celebrating, we should all reflect on our lives”, Fr. Gosu said.

Fr. Gosu also encouraged members of COSRA to reflect on their own lives and legacies, asking what would be said of them after their time of service.

He noted, “My dear brothers and sisters, how we apply the various opportunities we have, in serving God, in serving our families. There is death for all of us…Tomorrow, when you are at his feet, what will they say about you?”

He prayed for Monsignor Ankrah’s continued good health and God’s blessings, urging members of COSRA to remain committed to Christian service.

“We who have counted on Msgr., on Christianity, have many things to learn from him. The commitment to Jesus, the sacrifice of his time, to the glory of God, let us thank God”, Fr. Gosu said.

Msgr. Jonathan Thomas Ayikai Ankrah, founder of the Catholic Organisation for Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA) has been dedicated to spiritual formation, leadership and youth development in the church.

Msgr. Ankrah established the organization to revitalize activism and spirituality among the youth in the Catholic Church, highlighting his role as a leader and mentor to younger generations.
