KSJI Ghana to Host Maiden St. John the Baptist Memorial Lecture on October 13

The Knights of St. John International & Ladies’ Auxiliary – Ghana will, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, host the maiden edition of its Annual St. John the Baptist Memorial Lecture in Accra.

The lecture, which is expected to become a major fixture on Ghana’s national dialogue calendar, will be held on the theme: “SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER: UPHOLDING JUSTICE, MORALITY AND NATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY.”

According to the organisers, the memorial lecture is instituted in honour of St. John the Baptist – the Patron Saint of the Order known for his fearless moral courage in speaking truth to power – and seeks to create a non-partisan national platform for ethical leadership and accountability.

Keynote Speaker

The Keynote Speaker is His Lordship Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei (Maj. Gen.), Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana & Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

Special Guests of Honour

The lecture will be graced by H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, and H.R.M. King Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse & President of the Ga Traditional Council.

The event will bring together leaders from the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, Traditional Leadership, Faith Communities, Diplomatic Corps, Security Services, Civil Society, Academia, Media and Corporate Ghana.

The lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, 13th October, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Christ the King Parish Hall, Cantonments – Accra.
