The St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Society of the Accra Archdiocese has celebrated its 2026 Patron Feast Day at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Adenta.
The celebration on Saturday, October 3, was in line with the universal feast of St. Theresa of Lisieux, popularly known as the Little Flower, observed on October 1.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme, “Walking the Little Way: Growing in Love, Trust and Holiness,” bringing together thousands of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Society across the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra to renew their commitment to the virtues of humility, simplicity and active charity.

The Parish Priest of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe, encouraged members to discern God’s will before making decisions, stressing that failure to do so could lead them in the wrong direction and ultimately affect both individuals and the Church.
“Do the will of God; if not, you will do the wrong thing which will destroy you or the church”, he said.
He further cautioned the faithful against comparing themselves with others, urging them instead to develop an attitude that reflects Christ.

The newly elected Accra Archdiocesan executives of the society were also presented to the congregation and officially installed into office to continue the work of their predecessors.
As part of the celebration, a statue of St. Theresa of Lisieux was unveiled to deepen devotion to St. Theresa of Lisieux and encourage members to live out her spirituality by serving God through prayer, charity, simplicity and love.
The unveiled statue is expected to be placed at the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Gbetsile in the Accra Archdiocese, where it will be used for programmes and activities of the Society.
