The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has expressed profound gratitude to God and all stakeholders for the successful hosting of the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship in Ghana.
In a heartfelt note of appreciation exactly one week after the global gathering, Rev. Wengam described the congress as a monumental task that demanded years of prayer, sacrifice, planning and preparation.

“It was an enormous responsibility, but God’s grace proved sufficient, and we witnessed a remarkable manifestation of His faithfulness. By the help of God, we prevailed,” he stated.
The historic congress, held in Accra from October 14 to 16, 2026, on the theme “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation” – Matthew 28:18-20, marked the first time in the 115-year history of Assemblies of God that the World Congress was hosted on African soil.

According to Rev. Wengam, the morning leadership sessions at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre recorded over 10,000 participants daily, while the evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium drew a combined attendance of over 80,000 people across the three days.
“The revival was powerful, the impact phenomenal, and every speaker was a blessing to the global Church,” he noted.
Rev. Wengam expressed deep gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, who graced both the opening and closing ceremonies alongside other distinguished dignitaries, and to former President of Malawi, H.E. Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, who stayed through the congress and ministered at the Global Thanksgiving Service.

He also commended the Local Organising Committee Chairman, Rev. Andrews Awintia, and his dedicated team, including representatives from Ghana’s security agencies, as well as Mr. Fred Darko and the Evolution team, the event management partners, for their expertise and commitment.
He further thanked the Government of Ghana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various government institutions, corporate bodies, sponsors, partners, volunteers and all who supported the assignment.

“Africa will not be the same after this visitation. History has been made, God has been glorified, and Ghana has shone brightly before the nations,” Rev. Wengam declared.
He urged members of Assemblies of God, Ghana, not to rest on their laurels but to build on the momentum, embrace the next measure of growth, and continue to walk faithfully in the footsteps of their fathers.
“The congress may be over, but the mandate remains. The fire must keep burning, the Gospel must keep advancing, and the world must hear the message of Jesus Christ. To God alone be all the glory!” he added.
