The Leadership of the Catholic Professional Guilds (CPG) based in Accra has engaged the members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) at their Annual Plenary at Donkorkrom in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
This was part of strategic efforts to mobilize Catholic Professionals across the country to harness their expertise and energies towards the continuous growth and development of the Catholic Church in Ghana.
Mr. Edward Kwame Ayem, the Coordinator of CPG who led the delegation accompanied by Mr. Robert Dela Yao Mawuenyegah, Public Relations Officer of CPG and Mr. Francis Nana Peprah representing the IT Guild proposed to the Bishops’ Conference the formation of the CPG in their various Archdioceses and Dioceses.
According to them, the Professionals who affiliate with the respective Guilds would benefit from networking, creation of inter and intra business alliances, free mentoring and coaching opportunities while enjoying other benefits of professional affiliation to the CPG.
In his presentation to the Catholic Prelates on on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Mr. Ayem shared the current data base of the CPG, suggesting that building the database of all professionals in the Church at all levels would give the Bishops direct access to expertise in various fields to enhance the management of the temporal goods of the Church in their various Archdioceses and Dioceses.
The Most Rev. Joseph Afrifah
