The newly elected Officers of the Accra Archdiocesan Christian Mothers’ Association (CMA) have been inducted into office for a three-year term (2025-2028) at the St. Bakhita catholic Church at Community 20, Lashibi.

The ceremony was held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, during the Patronal Feast Day celebration of the Immaculate Conception, attended by hundreds of CMA members from the eight Deaneries in the Archdiocese, including the Christian Fathers’ and the Christian Sons’ and Daughters’ Association.

In preparation for the induction and a new start in office, on Saturday, November 29, all executives in the eight deaneries in the Archdiocese converged at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Kotobabi, for an orientation.

They were taken through accounting and auditing procedures, leadership skills, the constitution of the Association, appropriate dress codes, and the practical aspects of their duties, among others, by adequate resource personnel.

This orientation is a Trainer of Trainers programme which will trickle down to the Parish and Local levels.

Inducting the new leaders on December 13, Fr. Acheampong prayed that they would serve the group with zeal, love, selflessness, and humility.

In her inaugural address, Mother Dumashie said with a heart full of gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility, “I am profoundly grateful to God for His grace, grateful to Mother Church for her guidance, and deeply grateful to you, my fellow Christian Mothers, for the trust you have once again placed in me.”

With a humble heart and a renewed sense of mission, I accept the honour of serving as President of the Christian Mothers’ Association of the Accra Archdiocese,” she said.

She thanked her colleague executives, both returning and newly elected, saying, “Your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering faith made our first term a journey of grace. It has been a privilege to walk this path with you, and I am blessed to continue the mission by your side.”

Mother Dumashie addressing the CMA members

She thanked all Mothers across the Archdiocese for their prayers and encouragement, saying that “Without you, nothing we achieved would have been possible.”

Giving an account of first year stewardship, Mother Dumashie said, “As I reflect on our first term, I am moved by what God accomplished through us. We reached out to the vulnerable through charity to displaced mothers at Mepe, disadvantaged in children’s homes, as well as individual members who needed our support in various ways, embodying the love Christ calls us to share.”

According to her, during her three years, the Association journeyed on Spiritual Pilgrimages, seeking renewal and deeper faith, held retreats and formation programmes that lifted their spirits, strengthened their families, and brought many of the members closer to God.

“Acquiring an office space at the Holy Spirit Cathedral after a long period of back and forth, we can now boast of a safe place where all regalia is well handled and purchased by all Mothers,” she stated.

The CMA President indicated that “A beautifully customized Archdiocesan cloth, which is the first of its kind in the Archdiocese after so many years, identifies us completely and as united, as ‘THE HOLY FAMILY’.”’

According to her, the Association, through God’s gracious hand, has witnessed a tremendous increase in membership, saying that “Women from different Parishes, backgrounds, and ages found a home in the Christian Mothers’ Association—a place where they could grow, serve, and belong. This remains one of my deepest joys.”
