As a new calendar year begins for the Methodist Church Ghana, the church has appointed the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey as bishop of the Accra Diocese. In view of this, an Induction service has been held for him at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral Accra.
As the 5th Diocesan Bishop of the Accra Diocese as an outward mark of his office, he was robed with a vestments and stole of O, skull cup, a ring and pectoral cross, Holy Bible
Delivering the sermon, the Immediate Past Presiding Bishop-Most Rev Titus Kofi Awotwi Pratt urged the new Accra Diocesan Bishop to serve as a servant leader, urging him a humble service towards those below and those in high authority.
In attendance were the Executive of the church, Superintendent Ministers, Directors, Lay Chairman, MOBA 1971, Ga Mantse- King Teiko Tackie Tsuru (II) just to mention a few.
Prior to his appointment as a bishop, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey was the Superintendent Minister of the Gbawe-McCarthy Circuit.
