Some concerned citizens of Alakple, a town in the Anloga District in the Volta Region, have presented some items to the Chiefs, Elders and people of the town towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Alakple and Latame, an adjoining town.
The items worth GHc 2,000 donated by the Concerned citizens of Alakple led by Dr. Godwin Dogbevia included 10 Veronica buckets, liquid soaps, sanitizers, detergents and bucket stands.
The buckets are to be mounted at various vantage locations in both Alakple and Latame communities to help in the frequent washing of hands as it is one of the preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19.
Presenting the items on behalf of the donors on Sunday, April 5, 2020, Dumega Francis Fiakpornu, a renowned elder of the town, advised the Assemblymember of Alakple Electoral Area and the 2nd Vice Chairman of Alakple Development Association to intensify education on the deadly virus and also take good care of the buckets and other items.
The Assemblymember and the 2nd Vice Chairman assured their utmost commitment towards intensifying the education on the coronavirus in the two communities and ensure that all the items are put into good use. They also expressed their gratitude to all those who contributed towards the laudable initiative.
The former Assembly of Alakple Electoral area, Hon. Fidelis Adzi, Mr. Hope Agbavitor, Razak Kuade and few members of the Young Alaskans group were present during the presentation.
