Anglican Communion Urged to Respect Individual Names in Honour of Jesus Christ

Must read

Rev. Camilos Ababagre, Parish Priest at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Bolgatanga, has called on congregants to respect names of individuals and keep them chaste to the glory and memory of Jesus Christ

Rev Ababagre, who was preaching the sermon, explained that the Anglican communion dedicate January 1 to the circumcision and naming of Jesus Christ, which boldens Him as the saviour of the world.

Preaching on the theme: “Respect my name”, the Parish Priest noted that the Apostles insisted on proclaiming the name of Christ in the discharge of their assignment to preach the word because of the divine instructions attached to the name of Christ.

He said Christ’s name as a wonderful counsellor was self-explanatory and that “he will serve our needs when we seek his counsel. As prince of peace if we dedicate our need for peace in the world to him He is ever ready to solve them”

“Names exist forever. We, therefore, have to respect one another’s names. If you will not respect somebody because of his intellectual prowess, or because you envy him, respect his name,” he emphasised.

Rev Ababagre said, “If you will not respect somebody because he is poor, reached or because you consider his lifestyle as improper, respect their names. Human name is vital to the overall description of the individual and must be respected.”

The Parish Priest indicated that “it is biblically instructed that we name children born into the world and that instruction must be executed to the letter. It is, therefore, not surprising that the church through spirit field direction is dedicated today to the naming and circumcision of Jesus Christ.”

Rev Ababagre said by divine purpose, names rarely vanished because it was indelible and charged members of the congregation to respect people by their actions and by their names
