The Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, the Most Rev. Henryk Mieczyslaw Jagodzinski has urged the Clergy and lay faithful of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra to continuously exhibit the values of unity by living in peace with one another.
Addressing Catholics at the Holy Spirit Cathedral during his first day of five-day pastoral visit to the Accra Archdiocese on Wednesday, August 10, the Papal representative urged them to always endeavor to reach out to all with the word of God.
“The gift of faith has been giving to us not only for us, but to share it with those who do not yet know Christ, so that they too may be saved,” he stressed.
The Nuncio was welcomed to the Cathedral amidst singing, drumming and dancing.
As part of his August 10 to 14 visit, the Nuncio met the Priests and Religious in the Archdiocese at the Christ the King Parish on Thursday, August 11. On Friday, August 12, he would confer award of Papal Knights and Dames on some Catholics in the Archdiocese at the Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Community 1, Tema.
On Saturday, August 13, he will preside over the Priestly ordination of six candidates at the Corpus Christi Parish at Sakumono and on Sunday, August 14, he would be at the Holy Spirit Cathedral to climax his visit with the creation of Monsignors.
Archbishop Jagodziński was born in Małogoszcz, Poland on January 1, 1969 and was ordained to the priesthood on June 3, 1995 and incardinated in the Diocese of Kielce.
After obtaining a degree in Canon Law, he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on July 1, 2001. He has served various Pontifical Representatives, including those in Belarus, Croatia, India, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, he has worked in the Third Section of the Vatican’s Secretariat of State, the Section for Relations with States.
