The Parochial Vicar for Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Nkwabeng in the Sunyani Diocese, has urged students to stop shifting blames on others but to be responsible for the outcome their actions and inactions.
In a homily during Mass on Sunday, June 9, 2024 for the students at the Sunyani Technical University Pax Romana, Fr. Mensah admonished the students not to point fingers at others when they create problems but reflect on their own actions and inactions that resulted into who and what they are.
He advised the students not to waste their period of studies but to be responsible and prepare before hand for their examinations to avoid last minute pressure.
“Stop shifting blames on others and take responsibility for your actions and inactions” he stated.
He lamented that some young Catholics are unable to receive Holy Communion when they get their youthful stage due to their supposed numerous sins.
He urged them not to be discouraged but avail themselves for the Sacrament of Reconciliation to bring them closer to God.
“Remember that whatever the church seems to do is to bring the sinful back to the loving relationship of God. The very reason why Christ came to the earth,” he added.
He, therefore, encouraged the students to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation with no attitude of shyness no matter the sin committed.
