Beware! The Evil one doesn’t wish us Fruitful Mission – Former SMMC Superior General

Must read

Sr. Cecilia Clare Kudexa, the former Superior General of the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC), has exhorted her sisters not to relent in their core mandate of prayer as Consecrated women.

She was very passionate in sharing this with the community as she prayed with Galatians 5:19-21 during their Pentecost gathering on May 18, 2024, in Sokode Gbogame, Volta Region of Ghana.

The SMMC gather each year during Pentecost and as a ritual, pray and pick gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit they have prayed for throughout the year. This activity comes after the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Sr. Kudexa emphasised the need for developing a Daily Personal Relationship with the Holy.

She cautioned: “We need to be fruitful in our mission but mind you this can only be achieved when we allow the Holy Spirit to take charge of our senses and use our only weapon, prayer.”

“The book of Galatians 5: 19ff sends a caution; to beware of the things of the flesh namely, immorality, impurity, and sensuality, the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels, disagreements, she said.

She added “these are the workings of the devil. Resist the devil and take flight. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. But the Spirit gives life and gives life in abundance. Be open and obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.”

The former SMMC Superior General is a seasoned educationist, a catechist and a passionate member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and has been a leader of the Institute for a decade. She is very much involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal locally and Nationwide.

She ministers in the following areas:  Giving Life in the Spirit and Growth in the Spirit Seminars, Training leaders in the Renewal, and also in the area of Impartation and Empowerment.  She desires to see people flow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
