BHOBU STEM Foundation Supports Alma Mater with National Science and Mathematics Quiz Materials

Must read

The BHOBU STEM Foundation has supported its alma mater, Bishop Herman College (BIHECO) at Kpando, by donating essential materials to strengthen the school’s preparation for the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

The items were presented to the school management by the President of the Foundation, Mr. Lawrence Adoboe, on behalf of the leadership and the entire foundation.

The donation included modern NSMQ-standard quiz bells for five contestants, a timer, and assorted reference and study materials to aid the school’s NSMQ team in training and preparation.

Presenting the items, Mr. Adoboe stated that the Foundation remains committed to providing ongoing academic support to the school, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

He noted that the Foundation is working diligently to secure additional reference books and learning resources to adequately equip the NSMQ team for competitions.

He further indicated that the Foundation is determined to help reposition the BIHECO to achieve better results in the competition, lamenting that since the school began participating in the NSMQ, it has not progressed beyond the one-eighth stage of the contest.

According to him, the Foundation believes that with the right preparation, logistics, and motivation, the school can perform much better and compete favourably at the national level.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmaster, Mr. Dominic Kodolo, expressed profound appreciation to the BHOBU STEM Foundation for the timely and thoughtful gesture.

He assured the Foundation that the school has put in place a new management oversight committee to supervise and strengthen the preparation of the NSMQ team.

The Headmaster expressed optimism that the current challenges confronting the team are being addressed and that with the renewed commitment from both management and old students, the school is poised to achieve improved results in upcoming competitions.

He further emphasized that the continued support of the BHOBU STEM Foundation in terms of resourcing, retooling, mentoring, and sponsorship is very crucial, noting that the school alone may not be able to provide all the needed logistics at the level required to ensure competitive performance.

The school management, therefore, appealed for sustained collaboration from the Foundation and other stakeholders to help raise the academic profile of the school, especially in national academic competitions such as the NSMQ.

The headmaster has since handed over the materials to the coordinator of the new oversight committee.
