All is set for the 2024 edition of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) Games tomorrow Saturday, July 6 at the Madina Sports Complex in Accra.
This annual gathering unites alumni from across the globe, showcasing their athletic prowess and reinforcing the enduring legacy of Bishop Herman College.
The event promises a day brimming with spirited competition and fellowship, offering a diverse lineup of sporting activities tailored to engage participants of all backgrounds and interests.
Highlighting the schedule are eagerly anticipated football matches, where alumni teams will play passionately for the prestigious BHOBU Football Trophy, symbolizing the school’s rich tradition of talent and teamwork.
Beyond football, the festivities will encompass a variety of indoor games, including table tennis, chess, and scrabble, ensuring inclusive participation and enjoyment for all attendees.
Dr. Richard Bayitse (Zato), President of BHOBU, in an interview with the media expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event.
“We are delighted to host this year’s Bishop Herman Old Boys Union Games at the Madina Sports Complex. More than just a sports event, it’s an occasion for reconnecting with old friends, forging new bonds, and celebrating the unity and brotherhood that define our alumni community,” he said.
The activities are expected to commence at 8:00 AM with an opening ceremony featuring remarks from distinguished alumni and special guests. Throughout the festivities, food and beverage vendors will cater for participants and spectators alike, offering a variety of refreshments to enhance the event experience.
Open to all alumni, their families, and friends of Bishop Herman College, attendees are encouraged to don their school colors, symbolizing solidarity and support for the participants.
A member of the organising committee has indicated to the media there would be an exclusive clash and invitational match between the current BIHECO School team and the University of Ghana BHOBU Chapter Football Team with the BIHECO School band in attendance.
