The Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, Bishop of Ho Diocese, on the Solemnity of Holy Trinity, paid a pastoral visit to the Holy Trinity Parish at Hohoe in the Volta Region of Ghana during which he administered the Sacrament of Conformation to 91 Catholics.
Bishop Fianu who was the main celebrant of this double celebration on May 26, exhorted the faithful and the Confirmandi to be sharers of the experience of love.
“For we are called to experience the love of God and we are also to share this experience of the love God,” he said.
He explained that, in celebrating the feast of the Holy Trinity, one does not try to understand what actually the Holy Trinity is, for it is a mystery which can only be understood with the minds of faith.
In celebrating the feast of Holy Trinity, he said one tries to understand the essence of what the Holy Trinity which is love.
The 91 candidates presented by Fr. Christopher Latsebi, Parish Priest consisted of 65 from the Holy Trinity Parish, 11 from the Holy Family Catholic Church, an out-station of Holy Trinity Parish, six from Hohoe E.P Senior High School, four from University of Health and Allied Sciences, Hohoe, and four from Nursing and Midwifery Training College Hohoe.
Bishop Fianu assured the parishioners of his participation in the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Parish to be climaxed on June 9, 2024.
Fr. Latsebi, who is also the chaplain for the Non-Catholic schools in Hohoe, thanked the Bishop for his presence and seek the Bishops intercession for the candidates.
Also present at the Mass were Rev. Fr. Ernest Asigbetsey the Assistant Priest, and Rev. Fr. Lawrence Akli, an elderly Priest in residence, parents and invited guests from the various Schools of the Confirmandi.
