Bishop in Ghana Appeals to Young Ladies to Embrace Religious Life

The Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu, Bishop of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese has urged parents to allow their daughters to embrace religious life.

Preaching at a Mass to mark the 50th and 30th Anniversary of Profession of Final Vows of Sr. Georgina Edwine, SSL and Sr. Mercy Boateng, SSL, the Bishop encouraged the young ladies to emulate the celebrants in offering themselves to the service of God and his people.

The December 10, 2022 Mass held at the St. Michael Catholic Church, Apromase in the Konongo-Mampong Diocese was attended by the SSL Sisters, family, and friends of the celebrants.

Anniversary celebrants together with Bishop Joseph Osei-Bonsu, and the Sisters of Saint Louis after Mass at the St. Michael Catholic Church, Apromase in the Konongo-Mampong Diocese on December 10, 2022.

On behalf of the Ghana Region of SSL Congregation, Sr. Josephine Apiagyei, SSL, appreciated Sr. Georgina for her immense contribution to the Region as a one-time Regional leader and for her ideas that saw the construction of St. Louis Jubilee School of which she is currently the head of the Pre-School.

She also thanked Sr. Mercy Boateng, SSL for being instrumental at the   beginning stage of the St. Louis Jubilee School as the first headmistress and also as the immediate past Regional leader.

The Jubilarians renewed their vows as a way of showing gratitude to God for the past years and for continuous self-giving to God and His people.
