Bishop Louis Commends Donkorkrom Vicariate Clergy, Laity

The Most Rev. John Kobina Louis, an Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra and Episcopal Chair for Clergy and Religious, has commended the clergy and lay faithful in the Donkorkrom Vicariate, highlighting their tireless efforts in promoting evangelization.

He made his remarks during a presentation of a vehicle to the Donkorkrom Vicariate by the National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests Associations at the National Catholic Secretariat (NCS) on 20th November 2025 as part of its efforts to support the pastoral and humanitarian works of the Vicariate.

Most Rev. John Kobina Louis expressed his gratitude, saying, “I commend the tireless efforts of the clergy, consecrated men and women, catechists and other lay leaders working in the Vicariate. Their dedication and resilience inspire us.”

“Let us continue to serve those in need, building a more just and peaceful society”, Bishop Louis encouraged.

Prior to the handover, the vehicle was blessed by Bishop Louis on behalf of the President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and was received by Most Rev. John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom.

Most Rev. John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, in appreciation, assured NUGCDPA that the vehicle would be of great use in promoting the evangelization mission of the Donkorkrom Vicariate.

He said, “Definitely the vehicle will be put to good use, and it will enhance very much the mission of the church in the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom. I want to assure NUGCDPA that we will not forget this gesture of generosity, solidarity and compassion you have extended to me and my flock in the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom.”

Very Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Kuusah, President of the NUGCDPA, thanked all who contributed to making the presentation a reality, highlighting the union’s commitment to enhancing pastoral and humanitarian services in the vicariate.

In attendance at the ceremony were several dignitaries, including Very Rev. Fr. Clement Adjei, Secretary General of NCS, Rev. Fr. Terence Adzimah, Executive Secretary of the Centre for Human Development- CEHUD, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Liashiedzi, Executive Secretary of the Department of Pastoral Ministry and Evangelization, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe, PRO of NUGCDPA, Rev. Fr. Michael Quaicoe, Director of Governance, Justice and Peace of NCS, and Rev. Fr. Dieu Donne Davor, Executive Secretary for the Department of Social Communications, NCS.
