Bishop of Donkorkrom Vicariate in Ghana Appreciates Co-workers

As a yearly tradition, the Most Rev. John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of the Donkorkrom Apostolic Vicariate has appreciated his co-workers, collaborators-Priests, Religious and laity at a ceremony at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on December 29, 2022.

Dubbed Appreciation Day/Coworkers Day Celebration, this year’s celebration was also appreciate the Planning Committee for the Bishops’ Plenary Assembly for a job well done.

A Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Asiedu preceded the celebration.

Rev. Fr. George Darius Sokpo, Chancellor of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom did the homily and he based his Reflection mainly on the Gospel of the day (Lk 2:22-35).

In a homily, Fr. George Darius Sokpo, Chancellor of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom reminded the faithful of one of the important roles of the Holy Spirit, which is to lead people to Jesus.

In seeking the Lord as Simeon did, he added, “we are not left alone to our devices, but the Holy Spirit guides us and prompts us to take right decisions that will take us to Jesus.”

He added that while with Jesus, a Christian lives each day with confidence until the day when he can, like Simeon proclaim ‘At last O Powerful Master, you can let your servant go in peace, …for my eyes have seen the Salvation of the World’.

At the end of the Mass, Bishop Asiedu informed the people of God about the joy of the members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference for a successful host of the November Plenary.

He added that in their estimation, Donkorkrom Vicariate exceeded their expectations.

According to the Bishop, the gathering was an opportunity for his coworkers to relax and share among themselves, before going back to continue the work of God in their various Parishes and institutions.
