Blessed Laura Catholic School Pupils Share Lessons from Holy Spirit Cathedral Pilgrimage

Must read

Students of the Blessed Laura Catholic School have shared their excitement and lessons learnt following an educational and spiritual pilgrimage to the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra as part of their end-of-year activities.

Speaking after the programme, Class 5 pupil Ameyo Yvette Potaki said the visit helped her understand the unique structure of the Cathedral, noting that the building is designed in the form of a cross. She also learned that the special chair used by Bishops during liturgical celebrations is called the cathedra.

Another student, Jebin Kofi Obeng, described the visit as both engaging and spiritually enriching. He said the students participated in various activities, including Holy Mass and a climb to the cathedral tower. Although he initially felt afraid of the tower, he said he completed the climb by God’s grace.

Basic 9 student Akosua Dini Ampao highlighted the spiritual significance of the visit, stating that the students prayed the Stations of the Cross and celebrated Holy Mass at the cathedral. She added that she learned some former bishops of the Church are buried within the cathedral premises.

Sessy Anthony, a Pupil sharing his key takeaway from the Mass, said the homily encouraged students to be charitable and to share what they have with others, especially during the festive season.

The students described the pilgrimage as a memorable experience that deepened their understanding of the Catholic faith while combining learning with fun.
