Cal Bank Ltd. has released a Statement to inform its cherished clients and the general public that some of its selected branches across the country will continue to operate but limited services will be rendered.
This initiative was taken following the directive of the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo while addressing the nation on Friday 24th of March, 2020 on Ghana’s update on coronavirus cases recorded in the country.
The partial lockdown in two major cities in the country thus Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi is an initiative to curb the spread of coronavirus based on the fact that these two cities recorded most cases of coronavirus.
Some shortlisted branches in the Greater Accra Region that would still be opened to serve clients include Independence Avenue (IAB), Weija, Dansoman, Achimota, Ring Road West, East Legon, Spintex, Labone, Osu, Graphic Road, Tema Industrial Area, Tema community 1 and Tema Community 25 branch.
In the Ashanti Region, Nhyieso, Suame, Kejetia and Asafo branches will also be in operation. Shortlisted branches in the Western Region include the Takoradi Market Circle, Takoradi Harbour, Essiama and Tarkwa.
The Tamale branch will also be opened to serve clients in the Northern Region.
According to the communique all the shortlisted branches in Greater Accra and Kumasi will operate from 8:30am to 3pm whiles the Western and Northern Region branches will operate within their usual working hours thus 8:30 am to 4pm.
“Cal Bank encourages clients to make use of their electronic channels like the CalBank App, mobile short code (*771#) for banking purposes since transactional limits have been reviewed upwards and waived electronic banking charges,” the statement said.
However, Cal bank agents will also be available at their designated locations and whiles sticking to safety measures, most staffs of the bank will work remotely to continue serving their clients professionally and seamlessly.
