Newly elected executives of the Accra Archdiocesan Catechists Association of the Catholic Church in Ghana have pledged their unflinching commitment to wholeheartedly serve the Church.
Elected on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Dansoman, Accra to steer the affairs of Catechists and Catechetics from 2022-2024, the new executives also pledged to serve Mother Church and be obedient to the Archbishop and the Director of Catechetics in both words and action.
The new leaders inducted into office were Andrew Nana Gyan, President; John Arthur, Vice President; Roger W. Mededji, Secretary; Cornelius Kwasi Dordunu, Assistant Secretary; Helen Gabienu, Financial Secretary; Ernerstine Odjam, Treasurer and Christiana Ellen Aboagye, Welfare Chairperson.
Rev. Fr. Samuel Korkordi, Accra Archdiocesan Director of Catechetics on behalf of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, advised the newly elected executives to be committed and support their priests in the discharge of their duties.
Inducting the new leaders during a Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Korkordi encouraged them to be faithful witnesses as their patron, St. John the Baptist, advising them to help their parishioners to live the faith both in words and action and fight for their colleague Catechists.
As part of ceremony, 91 new Catechists in the Archdiocese were commissioned and presented with certificates for the completion of their courses.
Present at the ceremony was Rev. Fr. Nicholas Twumasi, CSSp, Chaplain of the Catechists Association in the Madina Deanery.
