A Catholic Priest of the Cape Coast Archdiocese of Ghana, has emphasized the central role the Holy Eucharist holds in the life of the Catholic Church.
Rev. Fr. Daniel Nenyor, a visiting Priest at St. Joseph, the Worker Catholic Church at Amanful-Cape Coast made this remarks during the Thanksgiving celebration for Sr. Mary Pauline Tamakloe of the Oblate Sisters of Providence, who took her final vows in 2023 at Baltimore in the United States of America.
The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Abben-Yeboah, Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
Fr. Nenyo in a sermon highlighted the Eucharist as a symbol of unity and God’s blessing, urging all Christians to embrace it.
He stressed the need for Eucharistic unity, urging families to emulate Christ’s life to promote love and togetherness.
He further drew attention to the dangers of disunity, which he said the enemy exploits to undermine God’s people and encouraged Christians to foster unity, love, and togetherness.
Illustrating his point with the example of Jesus breaking bread and bringing people together, Fr. Nenyor emphasized the importance of sharing meals within Christian families.
He called on Catholic parents to set an example for their children by spending quality time together.
Fr. Nenyor congratulated Sr. Mary Pauline on her commitment and thanked God for her final vows.
She started her formation in 2015, had her first vows in 2019 and final vows in 2023. She teaches at the Cardinal Shehan School in Baltimore, USA.
