Must read

Four Priests from the Catholic Diocese of Jasikan, in the Oti Region of Ghana, led by His Lordship, John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom, have visited Holy Rosary School in Asikasu, Donkorkrom, Eastern Region, as one of the Institutions in the Vicariate.

The purpose of this visit which happened during a courtesy call on Bishop Asiedu on June 25, 2024, was for the visiting Priests to see the school and to greet the Holy Rosary Sisters working there.

According to one of the Priests, their visit to the Vicariate was precipitated by the fact that they had not been able to visit their brother, the Bishop ever since he became Bishop, so they came to see how he and all in the Vicariate were faring.

The visiting Priests were: Rev. Frs. Francis Francis Osafo, Director of the Diocesan Formation Center, Nsuta; Daniel Kwame Adinkra, Parish Priest of St. Augustine Parish, Abotoase; Frank Offin-Sekyere, Parish Priest of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Katanga, and John Bosco Keeke, Parish Priest of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Dodi Papase, all in Jasikan Diocese.

Sr. Stella Nwosu, MSHR, the Headmistress of the School expressed deep gratitude for their visit despite the difficult reality of the terrain, stating that “Personally, when anybody musters the courage to come in here, especially just to come and see, I appreciate the person so much because here is really a ‘special’ place”.

She appreciated the good working relationship and collaboration with the Bishop, with his understanding and accommodative nature, saying, “We are happy amidst the stressful realities on ground”.

The pupils on their part were excited at the visit as some of them could be seen rushing to greet the Bishop and his guests.

The visiting Priests taking a tour round the premises, expressed joy to have visited the School which they described as ‘very beautiful’ and promised to extend news about the Sisters to their home Bishop when they return to their Diocese.
