The Catholic Professionals Guild in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Laity Council has donated an amount of GH¢35,060 to Caritas Accra, the charity organization of the Church.
The donation made by the Accra Archdiocesan Laity Council Chairman, Timothy Sowah on behalf of the CPG and the Council was to aid the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra to support the needy and the Church’s health facilities during this unusual period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Archdiocese was the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, who expressed gratitude for the kind gesture being showed to the Archdiocese in this time of need.
The event which took place at the residence of the Archbishop in Osu was attended by some executives of the Laity Council, the Chaplain for the Professionals Guild, Rev. Fr. Dennis Opoku and the Laity Council Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Andrew Anumu Quaye-Foli.
This deed by the Professionals Guild and the Laity Council was in consonance with an appeal made by the Archdiocese to help support the needy and the deprived during this moment of partial lockdown being exercised in the Greater Accra Region.
