The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT), a private university of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra at Adabraka, Accra, on Thursday, 27th February 2020, donated three overhead projectors and projector screens valued at Seven thousand, two hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC7,200.00) to the Management of the University College at a short ceremony.
Handing over the equipment to the leadership of the CIBT, the President of the SRC, Mr. Eric Boakye –Mensah, noted that the leadership’s objective was to contribute to the growth of the University College.
As a result, they decided to solicit for assistance from some Catholic Parishes. Two of the Parishes, Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments and St. James Catholic Church, Osu, responded positively, resulting in the donation. He indicated that it was the hope of the SRC that the equipment will enhance teaching and learning in the University College.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Management, the President of the University College, Professor Sylvester Achio thanked the SRC and commended them for the gesture. He used the occasion to invite alumni of the University College to emulate the gesture. He added that education is a collective responsibility and it was time that Alumni give back to the institutions that contributed to their lives.
Present at the ceremony was the Registrar, Mr. Perry P.K. Ofosu, the Academic Dean, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. John Kobina Loius, the Dean of Students, Mr. Joshua Doe and other members of the Management.
