On July 19, 2023, the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious – Ghana (CMSR-GH) marked a significant milestone as they opened and blessed their new office at the Our Lady, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina.

The event was graced by the Most Rev. Anthony Narh Asare, the Auxiliary Bishop of Accra, along with Major Superiors from various Religious Congregations, representatives of Religious Brothers and Sisters, the National Council of Catholic Women, and several lay faithful.

In his welcome address, Rev. Fr. Paul Ennin, SMA, the President of the Conference, highlighted the office’s relocation from Elmina to Madina, emphasising that it was a strategic move aimed at enhancing coordination and efficiency in their work.

The new office, he said, was intended to increase visibility and effectiveness, playing a crucial role in building the church and catalyzing transformative change in society.

Fr. Ennin further explained that the establishment of the new office aligns with the conference’s strategic plan, which focuses on institutional growth and the development of the conference as a registered legal entity.

This status, he stated, would enable them to fulfill their prophetic and advocacy role in society, serving as a source of spirituality, social services, and transformative interventions for the betterment of lives.

He highlighted several ongoing projects, including early childhood development and skill training for 300 youths nationwide, which will be further empowered by the new office.

Fr. Ennin expressed his hopes that the new office will contribute significantly to achieving the conference’s set goals. He expressed gratitude to the partners of the conference, particularly the Conrad Hilton Foundation, CRS, ASEC, ANJN, The Ghana Bishops Conference, and all the 72 member congregations in Ghana, for their support.

In a goodwill message on behalf of the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, Archbishop of Accra Archdiocese, the Bishop Narh Asare urged the Conference to use the office as a platform to foster vocations and address the welfare of religious individuals in Ghana.

He acknowledged the significance of the office’s location in Madina, providing an opportunity to test their work and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds. He conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the conference and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.

The inauguration of the new office marks a pivotal moment for CMSR-GH, reinforcing their commitment to transforming society through their impactful initiatives and dedicated service to the community.
