CONIWAS Declares 4 Days of Mourning in Honour of Late Ben Arthur

The Coalition of NGOs in the Water and Sanitation Sector (CONIWAS) has declared four days of mourning in honour of the shocking demise of its compatriot and former Executive Secretary, late Ben Arthur aka little Ben who died a few days ago.

According to a statement issued and signed by the Chairman of CONIWAS, Elder Atta Arhin, the four days of mourning starts from today, Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th January 2021.

“The four days of mourning is in honour of our departed colleague. We expect that prayers will be offered on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday by our Moslem, Adventist, and other Christian denominations respectively”. The statement indicated.

Mr Arhin disclosed that the coalition will lead the bereaved family to officially inform the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, Global Affairs Canada, UNICEF, and other relevant agencies to officially inform them of the demise of our compatriot.

However, a book of condolence will be opened at the CONIWAS secretariat in Accra and at all zonal centres from today, Thursday, 21st January 2021.

“The late Ben Arthur served the Coalition well, and other arrangements to honour his memory will be communicated later.

May his soul rest in perfect peace! Our condolences to the bereaved family!” the statement said.
