With an effort to bring all Catholics in the Accra Archdiocese together in Ghana’s Capital City, the Catholic Professionals Guilds (CPG) on March 8, 2020 launched this year’s May Day Business Fair and Games at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic church at Airport, Accra.
Speaking at the launch, the Chairman of the planning committee of the event, Dr. Tony Aubyn, disclosed the Business Fair will harness human capital of the church to impact and transform the society.
“I believe the time has come to rally behind and come together to help build our Church and Country as Catholic Lay faithful. My dear people of God, development remains our collective responsibility and aspiration and we need to continue to pay greater attention to working together as people of faith to improve our lot in our Country”, he stated.
The fair which will be marked on May 1 this year at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel will bring under one umbrella all professionals from the Guilds in all parishes to share knowledge and ideas to help mentor the younger generation in the society.
Dr. Tony Aubyn observed that it was also time to break barriers and walls of various groups and societies in the church that hinder people from progressing.
The May Day event which will comprise of numerous activities such as health walk, holy mass, games, kids corner among others is also expected to assist Catholics to have fun, network, and build strong personal and business ties.
The Catholic Professional Guilds is a network of Professionals with the mission of identifying and facilitating the establishment and growth of every professional in accordance with the Catholic Church mission.
The Guilds among others currently have its professionals drawn from the media, health, Financial, legal, Security, Sports, Hospitality, Engineering, Educational and the Creative art Industry.
