Bishop Francis Bomansaan’s motto is Totus Tuus Ego Sum, Domine meaning, “I am all yours, Lord”. According to explanations in his ordination brochure, this was inspired by the following biblical passages and the person of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Mary gave her total yes to the Lord in Luke gospel 1: 38 when God approached her through Angel Gabriel with a request, a mission to be carried out. Mary struggled because her total yes did not come to her easily.
She was disturbed but eventually surrendered to the will of God to be done through her. To bring salvation to all mankind through her. Mary’s yes became a source of blessing to all of humanity.
“This nomination came to me as a second call of God, I struggled with it and I had sleepless nights” said Bishop Francis. According to him, he gave numerous excuses but was constantly reminded that it’s not about him or his convenience but about the people
As captured in the brochure, the Bishop asked for the grace that his yes be total and generous. He prays that his total yes to his mission in Wa will be a source of blessing to all without exception, to be all things to all people (1cor. 9:22).
Relying on 2 Cor. 12:9 “my grace is enough for you” he prays to take up this mission but to rely totally on the grace of God.
