Football Match at Amankwakrom to Mark Holy Rosary Sisters Centenary

A friendly football match  has been organised between the Staff of Holy Rosary Health Centre, Amankwakrom in the Afram Plains, Eastern Ghana, and the motorbike riders of same community.

The competition organised by the Sisters of the Ghana Region is part of activities to mark the 100th anniversary (centenary) celebration of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (MSHR).

It is aimed at sensitizing the community on their upcoming Centenary celebration on October 5, 2024.

The September 29 football match which took place on the field of St. Anthony Roman Catholic School, Amankwakrom was preceded by a free health screening exercise in both Amankwakrom and Donkorkrom respectively; the two communities where the Holy Rosary Sisters live and work.

Sr. Nkechi Caroline Oraebosi, Regional Leader of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary (MSHR) gave the first kick to begin the match.

Present at the football match were some Holy Rosary Sisters from both Donkorkrom and Amankwakrom, Rev. Fr. Philip Gyapong, Parish Priest of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Amankwakrom, as well as some members of the community who came out massively to cheer the players. The motorbike riders won the match.

Holy Rosary Health Centre, Amankwakrom is one of the two Catholic Health Facilities owned by the Apostolic Vicariate of Donkorkrom and managed by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (MSHR). The other is Holy Spirit Poly-clinic at Kwesi Fante, managed by the Missionary Sisters, Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS).
