Ms. Millicent Apeku, a former Assistant Girls’ Prefect and executive member of the National Democratic Congress in Ashaiman Constituency, has donated books and stationery to Alakple Roman Catholic Basic School, her alma mater.
The donation was in a bid to enhance teaching and learning in the school which had nurtured many prominent people from Alakple.
Speaking during the donation exercise, Ms. Apeku stated that the gesture was part of her ongoing commitment to support education and give back to the community that shaped her.
“This is my way of contributing to the development of education in Alakple. I believe that when we invest in education, we are investing in the future of our communities,” she said.

She also used the opportunity to encourage other old pupils and non-governmental organizations to support the educational needs of the school and the Alakple community at large.
Ms. Apeku urged pupils to take their studies seriously and aim for greater heights in order to become productive citizens who can contribute to the growth and development of the school and the community.
The donation has been widely appreciated by the school authorities, who expressed gratitude for the timely support.
Mr. Bernard Efah, the headteacher, received the items on behalf of the School.
