Fr. Osmund Kudoloh Installed as Parish Priest of MMGC

Must read

Rev. Fr. Osmund Kudoloh has officially been installed as the Parish Priest of Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Accra West by the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, on October 26, 2025.

The occasion, which marked the pastoral visit of the Archbishop of Accra, brought family and friends of Rev. Fr. Osmund to unite in prayer and thanksgiving for his installation.

During the homily delivered by the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp,  he reflected on the Gospel of Luke, where he urged the parishioners to be humble and just in whatever they do.

He said, “The Lord we serve is a God not only of mercy but a God of justice. Justice is a theme that runs through the readings today, especially the gospel reading. The prayers of the humble will not rest until its purpose is achieved. Sirach takes us straight to the heart of the poor. When the poor speak, the earth shakes.”

He also warned against self-righteousness, noting that “God rewards the humble of heart but does not pay attention to the self-righteous. When the self-righteous prays, he prays to himself. The God of the self-complacent and the self-righteous is called the God of SELF, because he knows only the SELF. The SELF is number one.”

In his message to Fr. Osmund, the Archbishop charged him to complete projects in the church, stating, “I see one of the reasons for appointing you pastor of this church is to develop the new land at Spintex. I know you go there, and land guards come, but you have the real paper, so it is our land. You have to prove it is our land by developing it”.

Rev. Fr. Osmund Kudoloh, in response to the Archbishop, expressed his appreciation to the Archbishop and pledged to support the Archdiocese.

“I have pledged obedience to you, and I am also making this pledge to support you in your mission for the Archdiocese and Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church. I will do my best with the grace of God and through the intercession of Mary, our mother, to serve the community that you have entrusted to my care”.

He noted that the role assigned to him is not a reward but a “call to sacrifice, commitment, duty and dedication to serve the church and environment”.

Fr. Osmund also encouraged his parishioners to pray for him and always come to him for any assistance that would help progress the church.

He said, “We are going to move one step at a time, day by day, to build a community of love, understanding, and peace. My door is always open, dear brothers and sisters. Please walk in at any time, draw my attention to certain things that are not going well so that we take a second look at them and make this place a lovely home for all of us”.
