Fr. Paintsil Supports Accra’s Marian Grotto Project With GHc100,000

Must read

Rev. Fr. David Obeng Paintsil, Founder of the Global Rosary Network, has donated a generous amount of GHc100,000 to support the construction of an Archdiocesan Grotto in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, envisioned as a pilgrimage center for Marian devotees within the Archdiocese.

Fr. Paintsil announced this donation during the climax of the maiden Rosary Congress in Accra, where he urged Catholics to contribute to the project.

He expressed his enthusiasm for the project, noting, “The Archbishop has shared his vision to establish an Archdiocesan Grotto or a pilgrimage center for the Archdiocese. When he shared this with me, it filled my heart with joy because those who know me from the Archdiocese of Cape Coast will understand that this was the Lord’s doing to establish the Immaculate Heart of Mary Grotto. The Archbishop also has plans to establish a Marian Shrine in the Archdiocese. This is a wonderful vision, and it is going to be a big grotto.”

According to Fr. Paintsil, the establishment of an Archdiocesan grotto will be a form of blessing to all Marian devotees.

“I stand here to encourage all Catholics and all devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary to donate to support this vision… See the miracles Mother Mary has done, yesterday and today. The Grotto Archbishop is coming to build, the miracles that will happen have never happened before”, he added.

Fr. Paintsil acknowledged that the task would not be easy but urged all to contribute to the project, stating, “I know what goes into building a Grotto. It is a huge task for you. The little that I have, I have donated to support. If Fr. Paintsil, as little as I am, God through my mother and family has donated 100,000, 50,000, I know you can do it.”

He again added that every contribution made toward the project is for the greater glory of God.

“Even if you can donate 10,000, it is to the glory of God, if it is 5,000 it is the glory of God, if it is 1,000 it is the glory of God…. So I encourage you all to donate so that we build the Grotto for the greater glory of God”, he urged.

The grotto project, announced by the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, is part of a “pastoral state of emergency” aimed at completing three initiatives, including the Children’s Hospital at Adjen Kotoku and an Archdiocesan Pastoral Center.

The Marian Shrine will serve as a sacred space for prayer, pilgrimage, and Marian devotion, where all devotees in the Archdiocese of Accra can gather to strengthen their relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary.
