A total of 48 Delegates and Observers of the Knights of St. John International and Ladies’ Auxiliary from Ghana are expected to leave Accra for Monrovia, Liberia, to attend the 9th West African Summit from May 14th to 18th, 2025.
The West African Summit, scheduled to take place at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia, Liberia, will bring together members from the West African Region to discuss issues of mutual interest, reflecting on the theme “Bridging Differences, Empowering Together.”
According to Major General William Adjei, President of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery, Ghana of the Knights of St. John International, the theme for the 9th West African Summit aims at building togetherness in the Order.

He said, “By this theme, we hope to objectively address any differences between us, build bridges and leverage on the benefits of empowering together”.
Major General William Adjei also noted that the summit will help boost the membership drive of the Order while deliberating on issues faced by members in West African countries.
“The objective of the summit is to deliberate on issues of common interest to our membership in West Africa and agree on how to advance it with the support of all member countries in West Africa. We expect to come out with decisions that will benefit the membership in West Africa and further boost our evangelization and also membership drive”, he noted.
In an attempt to foster togetherness in the Order, Major General William Adjei stated that KSJI Ghana has submitted papers for discussion during the summit, which will aid in strengthening the participation of members at the summit.

He also added that, “We have also tabled a paper that seeks to benefit our members and make more resources available for improved charity. It is our hope that our colleague from West African Countries will go along with our proposals.”
He therefore urged KSJI Ghana members who will be attending the 9th West African Summit to network, “take the business sessions seriously and bring out their arguments for or against any proposal. They should also be part of the social outings to unwind and make new friends.”
In addition, he encouraged those who would not make it to the summit to make arrangements to join the next edition of the West African Summit in order to gain benefits from the summit.

He said, “They should add attending the summit to their budgets so they can participate anytime there is a summit. There are many benefits apart from networking. One may even be able to leverage good practices in other Countries.”
West African countries that will be attending the 9th West African Summit include Nigeria, Togo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, which will be hosting the summit.
