The newly-elected Chairperson of GHANCYC, Mr. Joseph Besigrinee in his acceptance speech, assured the youth of maximum unity and corporation to work together as youth leaders.

He appealed to the outgone executives to always open their doors to them.

This year’s AGCM was under the theme, “The Word of God: Christian formation for transformation in Ghana.”

The GHANCYC AGCM brought together delegates from the various Dioceses and Vicariate to brainstorm on the prospect and issues affecting the Catholic Youth in the Country.

The Ghana National Catholic Youth Council (GHANCYC) is a unit under the Department of Pastoral Ministry and Evangelisation of the National Catholic Secretariat. GHANCYC was established by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference in 1974 with the mandate to train, coordinate, evaluate, report and serve as the official mouthpiece of the Ghanaian Catholic youth at the National level.

GHANCYC also has the mandate to ensure total formation and growth of the Catholic youth and the church.

Bishop Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Episcopal Co-Chair of the Youth and the Laity, urged the newly elected executives to allow God to use them for the greater growth of GHANCYC.
