The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (RESEC) has put in place various strategies that are expected to be strictly maintained by all residents in the Region.

The measures are part of measures to prevent further spread of the coronavirus in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement issued on April 22, 2020, signed and approved by the Regional Minister, Ismael Ashitey, these measures were arrived at after an emergency meeting on Wednesday, April 22.

The Statement sighted by Newswatchgh.com noted that it is now mandatory for the general public to wear a face mask outside their homes.

“Notices of NO FACE MASK, NO ENTRY, should be visibly displayed at vantage points including offices, lorry stations, shops, markets, malls, banks, pharmacies, among others,” said the Statement.

“Commercial drivers are also to ensure that passengers wear face masks before being allowed to board their vehicles,” the statement added.

It also noted that education and sensitization on face mask-wearing, social and physical distancing by the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies will be intensified in their respective jurisdictions.
