Holy Spirit Sisters in Ghana Organise Workshop for Temporary Vows Sisters

A workshop has been organised for Temporary Vows Sisters of the Congregation of Missionary Sisters Servant of the Holy Spirit (SSpS) at the Congregation’s Novitiate House, Dumasua, Sunyani from January 8 to 10, 2023.

Organised by the Provincial Leader of SSpS, Ghana Province, Sr. Mercy Benson,  in collaboration with the Juniorate Directress, Sr. Theresa Tawiah, SSpS, the workshop was on the theme: “An Enrichment of Religious Missionary Life as SSpS.”

It was to create room for the Junior Sisters to be encouraged as well as to let them know more about the Province’s schedules.

Sr. Benson, Sr. Tawiah, and Sr. Simona Anthony, SSpS, facilitated the workshop.

Sr. Mercy Benson to the junior Sisters through the new offices created in the Province with their specific functions in the collaborative mission of the Province.

The Provincial Leader educated the Sisters on the proper use of mobile phones, when to make and receive calls.

She also touched on the dress code of the Congregation, advising them to dress decently in habits for easy identification as a member of the SSpS.

She emphasised on the use of proper communications channels in the Province and explained to the SSpS Sisters in temporary vows the difference between information and permission.

The newly professed Sisters thus, Sr. Dorcas Sampson, SSpS and Sr. Mavis Wienaah, SSpS were prayerfully initiated into the Juniorate group who were urged by Sr. Benson to be more alive, active in their respective communities, church and work places with passion for mission.

Sr. Tawiah made an input on “Finding Meaning in Religious Life,” during which the Junior Sisters shared their experience on how they had been sustained in finding meaning in religious life.

The responses of the Junior Sisters were through prayer, passion for mission, spiritual direction and reading, meditation, perseverance, tolerance and forgiveness etc. and their challenges in finding meaning in Religious Life.

As part of the workshop, the Provincial Leader met each Sister for interactions and personal experiences.

The Junior Sisters were much grateful for this particular gathering because it had helped them to share their experiences, joys and challenges and also brought them together from their various communities, they wished to have programs like this.
