The Most Rev. Julien Kaboré, Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, has stated that humanity remains in need of a saviour due to global issues, including hunger, modern slavery, religious intolerance, and violence.
In his homily at a Mass at the St. Bakhita Parish, Lashibi Comm. 20, on the solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord, Most Rev. Julien Kaboré described Jesus Christ as the saviour of the world in times of difficulties.
He said, “Do we need the Saviour? Does the word Savior still carry meaning for the men and women of these times? Is such a gift still necessary for humanity?”
The Apostolic Nuncio stressed that “our Saviour is born because he knows that we still need him, adding that “the human condition remains almost unchanged.”

He also noted that some regions in the world lack religious freedom, emphasizing the need for humanity to become God’s children.
“Today, this very day, Christ comes again to his own. To those who welcome him, he grants the gift of becoming children of God. He opens before them the possibility, the opportunity of beholding God’s glory and of sharing in the joy of God’s love which took flesh for us in heaven, he said.
Most Rev. Julien Kaboré also stated that Jesus Christ remains the saviour of humanity because he alone “can heal what is deeply broken within us, within our humanity.”

He also noted Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, stating, “Who then can truly defend the human person, if not the one who loves humanity dearly, to the point of offering on the cross his only begotten Son for the salvation of the world?”
The Apostolic Nuncio described Christ as the “light of God that enlightens every man and woman, has been redacted”, calling on all to “rejoice in this gift of grace and joy.”
