The Government of Ghana through the Public Services Commission (PSC) has directed all Public Service Organizations to introduce and implement flexible working conditions for their staff.
This is in line with the directive of the President of the Republic of Ghana H.E. Nana Akuffo Addo to curtail the spread of the COVID -19 pandemic.
In a press release dated March 23, 2020 and sighted by newswatchgh.com, the PSC directed all Public Organizations to prioritize the health of their staff, clients and the general public at large.
This, however, should be done simultaneously with effective plans that will ensure work continues as usual, the release added.
“Public Service Organizations are thus, directed to prepare a business continuity plan in accordance with the HRM Policy Framework & Manual for the Ghana Public Service.”
In the preparation of their business continuity plan, the release advised organizations to take advantage of any available leave options, as well as implement rotation and shift systems to help their course.
This, according to the release, when done will see reduced working days and hours for workers.
It added: “All National Service Persons, NABCO officers and non essential staffers of all Public Service Organization are by this statement directed to take leave of work.”
