Must read

Noble Sister Emma Ethel Asomani, President of the Supreme Subordinate Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Ghana, has been honoured at a thanksgiving mass which was held at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Afienya.

The Mass brought together senior officers of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery and Ladies’ Auxiliary, as well as Brothers and Sisters of the Accra East Grand Commandery and Ladies’ Auxiliary, who gathered to thank God for her leadership, service, and dedication to the Order and the Church.

In a homily delivered at the Mass, Rev. Fr. Isaac Donkor, CSSp, Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, encouraged Christians not to neglect prayer, especially in moments when life appears to have come to a standstill.

He explained that prayer strengthens faith and invites God’s help in difficult situations.

Reflecting on the life of St. Joseph, whom he described as the “silent pillar of the Incarnation,” Rev. Fr. Donkor urged the faithful to trust in God and to say “yes” to God’s will, just as Joseph did despite uncertainty and challenges.

He further admonished Christians to practise forgiveness, live with integrity, and uphold strong moral convictions.

According to him, remaining steadfast in faith and living by Christian values are essential to becoming better individuals and building a stronger society.

Noble Sister Emma Ethel Asomani was initiated into the Our Lady of Mercy (OLAM) Ladies’ Auxiliary, No. 340, Tema, on 9th November 1991.

She began her leadership journey at the Subordinate Auxiliary level in 1996 and served at the District and Accra Grand Ladies’ Auxiliary levels.

She later served as the premier President of the Accra East Grand Ladies’ Auxiliary from 2013 to 2017.

At the Supreme level, she served as Recording/Corresponding Secretary from 2011 to 2013 and from 2015 to 2019. Second Vice President from 2019 to 2023, and First Vice President from 2023 to 2025.

She was overwhelmingly elected as the Supreme Subordinate President at the Supreme Convention held at KNUST, Kumasi, in October 2025, becoming the 7th person to hold the office and the first from Tema.

The Thanksgiving Mass was marked with prayers, thanksgiving, and reflections, as family and well-wishers joined N/S Emma Ethel Asomani to express gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings.
